When we saw Whethan this past weekend at HARD Summer Music Festival in the early afternoon, it wouldn’t have been a stretch to call his crowd less than packed. Despite the typical low attendance of an opening slot, he still managed to throw down one of our favorite sets of the weekend, including in his set new collaborations with Skrillex & Flux Pavilion (neither of which have concrete release dates), as well as inviting Oliver Tree on stage to perform some new originals.

Now, the 17-year-old Chicago-based producer is preparing to release his first ever original production titled “Can’t Hide” next Friday, August 12th. In the preview exclusively provided to Pilerats, vocalist Ashe layers her sweet talents on top of a bouncy future bass drop – at just 30 seconds, we’re thirsty for a lot more.

Whethan rose to fame after producing a remix for Mssingno’s “XE3” which has garnered over 6 million streams on Soundcloud alone. Be sure to read the full interview with Whethan on Pilerats¬†here.
