There’s always be a good amount of crossover between video games and electronic music, especially as more and more EDM is featured on Twitch live streams. And with eSports becoming a booming industry attracting capital investment from venture capital funds, celebrities, and athletes alike, it was only a matter of time before somebody in the music world would jump in.
That person would be Steve Aoki who has just purchased a large share in Las Vegas-based Overwatch team, Rogue, to become a partner in ownership. As of now, the only video game that Rogue competes in is Overwatch, but there have been talks of the organization expanding into the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pro-scene as well.
Who knows! Maybe CLG Calvin Harris will soon be a thing.
