Steve Aoki’s My Chemical Romance Remix Will Come Out Monday, 11/28

The top comment on the announcement of this news on Steve’s Facebook page pretty well sums up my feelings on the matter, “not sure if I should be scared or offended or both.” Though, in my defense, the closest word to what I’m feeling is intrigue.

“Welcome To The Black Parade” has become My Chemical Romance’s most iconic song (yes, beyond “Helena”) and to remix it almost seems sacrilegious. And yet, Steve Aoki has worked with pop punk bands in the past like Blink 182… why couldn’t he remix My Chemical Romance, too?

While the announcement only included a short teaser of the remix, one commenter included a video of a performance of Steve’s with a longer listen. Check it out below. The remix is out Monday, November 28.
