The Chainsmokers Set New Record On Billboard Charts

The Fray’s Isaac Slade & Joe King Added To Credits Of The Chainsmokers’ “Closer”

Though The Chainsmokers’ reign atop the Billboard Hot 100 has ended, after 12 weeks at the #1 position and currently sitting at #3, “Closer” is still crushing a number of charts. They’ve actually set a new record atop one such chart, the Dance/Mix Show Airplay.

The previous record was held by Swedish House Mafia for “Don’t You Worry Child,” which spent sixteen weeks on top. Before that it was Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” for 15 weeks. As of this week, “Closer” has spent seventeen weeks at the top of the list, setting the new record. Listen to them both below.

“Closer” has been at the top of the Dance/Electronic charts for 17 weeks, as well, however it is still far from the record. “Wake Me Up” by Avicii still holds the record for the longest number of weeks at number one on this chart, with 26.
