grandson released the gritty “Die Young” on his a modern tragedy vol. 3 EP last year, and now it’s revived with a bouncy and addicting new remix from Saint Punk.
The original “Die Young” is wild with distortion and angst, mixing gunshot-style synths with a slightly off-tuned melody for a fantastic effect. When Saint Punk got his hands on, it turns into a rhythmic bass house bomb that is perfectly tuned for shuffling, chest popping, or whatever other dance you feel works. (Hint: pretty much anything.)
A lot of the angst of the original is lost in more dance-heavy expression, but the bridge left intact still packs a hell of a punch before heading back into the lighter material.
