A lot of producers aim to create a track with a specific vibe. Whether that’s beginning with the kicks or a melody, very rarely does a track just get pieced together like LEGOs. Rising artist Biicla has this mentality on lock with his new song “Deeper,” a song with a distinctly softer sound that hearkens back to simpler times.
Speaking about his new track, Biicla said, “While creating this track, I was trying to make it sound as soft as 2000’s ones. For me it’s something really special because it perfectly combines the narrative line with the conceptual idea. ‘Deeper’ is the track I would listen to in the background and sing along myself.”
It’s hard to accurately describe what a “2000s” song sounds like, but for those of us who were listening to music at the time, it’s something you know when you hear it. Perhaps it’s the somewhat muted synths or the grittier synth, or the poppy melody, or maybe everything together, but “Deeper” nails it. The vocals from MODENESS, on top of everything else, make this a sure hit.
Biicla has proven time and again that he deserved his spot on our 40 Artists To Watch list published at the end of last year. With more on the way, we hope that he continues to prove his mettle. You can listen to “Deeper” below.
