Purity Ring Release New Single From Forthcoming Album, “peacefall”

Purity Ring today released the third single, “peacefall,” from their forthcoming third album, WOMB. Much like previous singles, Megan James’ vocals take center stage amidst writing and production from the duo in a dreamy and sultry whirlwind.

While James and Corin Roddick continue to pump out high quality music, the question surrounding this album remains: is it any different from their previous work? And judging by the first three singles, the answer is pretty much no, it’s about the same.

The same was true of Shrines versus another eternity, so the continuation of thematic elements in WOMB isn’t exactly surprising. But for an artist to not evolve and grow over 8 years isn’t particularly a good thing, either. That being said, if you love Purity Ring, you know what you’re going to get and you’re going to like it, so the consistency is also a positive.

Listen to “peacefall” below, and pre-order WOMB here.
