We caught up with Brazilian producer and DJ Volkoder, who recently dropped his EP Picture: Volkoder on Diynamic Records.
The 6 track EP received early support from heavyweights like Solomun, Vintage Culture, Mau P and CamelPhat, which created a palpable sense of momentum for its official release. With every track, Volkoder uses the dancefloor as a point of reference and source of inspiration, which resulted in a project that’s authentic, cohesive and ultimately groundbreaking.
Volkoder has come a long way since his breakout in 2014 with his Detroit EP. The EP’s title track also received acclaim from the likes of Jamie Jones, Carl Cox, and The Martinez Brothers. Since then, his career has skyrocketed and he has performed at venues and festivals like Space Miami, Eden Ibiza and Tomorrowland Brasil, while he’s released music on labels like Catch & Release, Black Book Records and Defected. 
In the interview, Volkoder talks more about the release of Picture: Volkoder, the importance of staying grounded, what he looks for in collaborators and more.
Congratulations on the release of your debut EP Picture: Volkoder! How does it feel to have your first EP released on such an influential label like Diynamic?
It feels incredible. Diynamic is a label I’ve respected for many years because of its identity and consistency. Releasing my debut EP there makes it even more special. It feels like the right home for this moment in my career.
Solomun has such a distinct style. What do you think he heard in these tracks that aligned with his vision for Diynamic?
I think he connected with the groove and the emotional depth of the tracks. There’s a balance between club energy and atmosphere that fits the Diynamic vision. I always focus on identity rather than trends. Maybe that honesty is what resonated.
Which track on Picture: Volkoder do you resonate with the most and why?
I resonate a lot with ‘All Night Long’. It represents connection and that timeless feeling on the dancefloor. It’s built around groove and emotion at the same time. That balance really reflects who I am as an artist right now.
2026 is shaping up to be a massive year for you, as you have upcoming collaborations with Vintage Culture, Adam Ten and James Hype. How do you manage to stay grounded and true to yourself as your career gets busier?
I stay grounded by focusing on the music, not the noise around it. The studio is still my safe space. No matter how busy things get, I always come back to why I started. That keeps everything in perspective.
You also have an upcoming EP which will be released on Jamie Jones’ label Hot Creations. What can listeners expect from that EP, and did you experiment with any new production techniques or sounds?
The Hot Creations EP is very club-driven and energetic. It has a strong groove but still keeps my melodic touch. I experimented with new textures and more stripped-back arrangements. It’s made for the dancefloor.
As someone that’s collaborated with artists from different corners of the electronic world, is there anything specific you look for in a collaborator before working with them?
I look for artists with a strong identity and vision. Chemistry is very important. It has to feel natural, not forced. When there’s mutual respect, the music flows better.
Your 2015 track ‘Sensation’ became the most played track of an Ibiza summer, which is a rare milestone. Did that change the way you saw your own potential, or did it increase the pressure?
It definitely gave me confidence. Seeing a track connect like that was powerful. At the same time, it raised expectations. But I’ve learned to turn pressure into motivation.
Electronic music trends move very quickly. How have you managed to evolve without losing the core of what makes a song “Volkoder”?
I evolve by staying curious. I listen to new sounds but filter everything through my identity. Trends come and go, but groove and emotion stay. That’s what keeps the “Volkoder” essence alive.
With so many releases and milestones already behind you, what still motivates you?
The desire to grow and explore new ideas motivates me. I’m always searching for new feelings in music. The connection with the crowd still inspires me a lot. That energy is addictive in a positive way.
Is there anything else that you have in the pipeline for 2026 that your fans should keep an eye out for?
There are more collaborations coming and some special remixes. I’ll also be touring heavily in key markets. There are a few projects I can’t announce yet. 2026 will be a big year.
