Hardwell and W&W are doubling down on their partnership, and Big Room House is better for it. The Dutch duo have followed up their recent collaboration ‘Turn Up the Bass’ with a second team-up, ‘Bangkok’, a track built as a tribute to Southeast Asia and its culture, and a clear signal that one collaboration wasn’t going to be enough for either artist.
‘Bangkok’ leans fully into festival nostalgia, drawing on the sonic signatures that defined Big Room’s peak years at Tomorrowland, Ultra, and EDC in the early-to-mid 2010s. The track brings back familiar callbacks from that era, from a “hands in the air” vocal sample to the genre’s signature “3, 2, 1, go” countdown before the drop, the kind of production choices built to trigger memories of the genre’s biggest festival moments.
The release comes at a moment when Big Room House is enjoying a broader resurgence, with both artists tapping directly into that renewed appetite for the genre’s classic sound rather than chasing current trends. Following two rapid-fire collaborations in quick succession, the pairing looks less like a one-off and more like a sustained creative partnership.
