So don’t be surprised when we tell you that Skrillex & Diplo Present Jack U debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronica chart. According to Billboard, the album sold 14,000 copies between its release on February 24th and March 1st.
Skrillex scores his third No. 1, following the Bangarang EP and Recess, which spent a combined 15 weeks at the top. It’s the first No. 1 for Diplo, who previously took two albums to No. 2.
The new album’s “Take U There,” featuring Kiesza, cruises to a new peak (23-15) in its 22nd week on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, sporting a 97 percent sales increase (to 8,000 downloads sold). The DJ duo also debuts with “Where Are U Now,” featuring Justin Bieber (No. 13; 20,000 sold); “Febreze,” featuring 2 Chainz (No. 34; 4,000); and “To U,” featuring AlunaGeorge (No. 50; 3,000).
Skrillex now stands as the act with the most entries logged on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs (18) since the chart’s launch on Jan. 26, 2013. He also edges onto the Billboard Artist 100 for the first time, at No. 98.
