This week makes ten months since our last chapter of the Conspectus series. Since then, we’ve lost our valuable Conspectus writer, Tyler Trew, who has moved on to bigger and better things, but now we’re finally ready to reboot the much-loved series. This week’s edition covers a wide variety of sub-genres, including the “bass house” genre that artists like Jauz and Curbi are making extremely popular right now. First, we have Shoe Scene Symphony’s 2015 rework of Da Bush Babees’ rap anthem “We Run Things,” followed by its bass counterpart, “Raindigger” by Jameston Thieves. Timmo Hendriks and Afreaux provide us with a Henry Fong-bounce-styled “Ragga,” and Creaky Jackals bring out “Booty Gyal,” a trap anthem that Diplo fans will go nuts over. Finishing off is the free gift from Monstercat artist Laszlo, “Galactic.” Make sure to support all of these up-and-coming artists by downloading their tracks!
