Closing out the new year with arguably one of my favorite EPs of the entire year is Optiv & BTK’s newest release Dark City on Blackout. Proving themselves time and time again as two of the scene’s most consistently forward-thinking producers, this release is everything. Having heard the title track played out a few times in recent memory, I nearly exploded with excitement when this release landed in my inbox.
Built upon the fearful vocal samples that discuss the mysteriously hairy creature known as Sasquatch, the production duo slams through a monster drop that tears through headphones like a predator pouncing on its prey, every second of this tune is jam-packed with serious weight.
This massive release is set for January 8th. Don’t sleep on this one.
