I’ve been listening to Doctor P for nearly as long as I’ve been listening to dubstep altogether. Even though I came into his career a bit late, I was still fascinated with his back catalog and tracks like his remixes of Caspa’s “Marmite,” Blame’s “Star,” and of course 12th Planet’s “Reasons.”
And while I’m a fan of Doctor P overall, I’ve always found greater pleasure in his remixes than originals. In this case, however, I’m ecstatic to admit that his newest original has me nostalgic for those “good ol’ days” in the best way possible.
“Rekt Together (Every Single Night)” is like the ultimate culmination of all of his production styles rolled into one, with infectious vocal chops and heavy basslines, perfectly crafted drums and brilliant sound design. I’m not going to say this is his best release in years, but I definitely want to. Either way, I’m really happy with this release, and I’m going to play it on repeat until either my ears bleed, or I hate it more than anything else.
