I was browsing through the HypeMachine charts and amidst a whole host of chart regulars stuck out one new name, to me at least, in the top 10 – Anders Young. Fascinated with this remix of “Hand To Myself” I took the chance to thoroughly stalk the man and realized that with only 265 SoundCloud followers and 12 Facebook bans the producer literally came out of nowhere.
That being said, it’s not surprising to see why he’s doing so well. Anders Young infuses Selena Gomez’s vocals with some sugary-sweet pop aesthetics perfect for both an EDM crowd or even top-40. It’s rare to hear female vocals sound as cool as they do when pitched but somehow Anders also seems to make that work.
