The Chainsmokers Offer Praise For Die Antwoord & Criticism For Lady Gaga

Everyone wants to know what The Chainsmokers are thinking. As the biggest duo in dance music right now – let alone pop music – every publication is clamoring for an interview with Drew and Alex. Not first, but certainly not least, was their recent interview with Billboard which sparked accusations of misogyny and sexism, though they attempted to clear that up in a more professional interview with ABC.

Now, they’ve done another interview with Rolling Stone in which they once again speak quite candidly.

The interview is actually somewhat on the short side, but they still manage to talk about musical influences and who they’re digging right now, like Die Antwoord, twenty one pilots and Stromae. When the conversation turns toward Lady Gaga’s new single, “Perfect Illusion,” however, Pall doesn’t mince words: “It sucks.”

Taggart tries to offset the bluntness by offering a meager “She’s a great artist, but…” and Pall agrees. Though according to Rolling Stone, as he tries to finish his sentence, “he trails off, scrunching up his nose like something’s gone rancid on the seafood tower.”

Listen to Lady Gaga’s single below and let us know if you agree. You can read the rest of the interview on Rolling Stone here.
