Above & Beyond delighted fans when they began to perform acoustic shows. These shows reinterpreted the group’s classic songs with more orchestral flair and live instrumentation. The group launched the acoustic shows in 2013, going on to release accompanying acoustic albums in both 2014 and 2016.
Above & Beyond’s journey from pure EDM group to live acoustic performers is captured in their new documentary. Titled “Giving Up the Day Job,” the documentary follows the group as they roll out their acoustic performances. The documentary builds up to their 2016 show at the Hollywood Bowl, one of the biggest shows of their career. Directors for the documentary include Paul Dugdale, who has directed concert films for the likes of Adele, The Rolling Stones and One Direction, and Myles Desenberg.
The documentary released exclusively on iTunes last week, and includes the entire Hollywood Bowl performance. Not a bad deal, especially if you’re an Above & Beyond fan.
