Gorillaz Plan Triumphant Return, Announce New Album

Damon Albarn, the prolific frontman for Blur & Gorillaz, just made an unexpected, however long-awaited announcement preceding his first Australian tour with Blur in 18 years: a new album is coming from virtual hybrid/pop group Gorillaz, which will be their first extended project in over 4 years.

“I’m starting recording in September for a new Gorillaz record.”

He said in a new interview. Although rumors ran rampant about the group’s dispersal do to the noticeable lack of releases, Albarn insists that…

“I’ve just been really, really busy so I haven’t had a chance…I’d love to just get back in to that routine of being at home and coming to the studio five days a week.”

In the meantime, let’s reminisce to that one song that everyone knows to start your Thursday off right.
