This year’s Pan American Games are held in Toronto, Canada. The massive city, which has one of the best EDM scenes around, is home base for a plethora of talented musicians and artists including the noteworthy Deadmau5. For this reason Kanye West‘s closing ceremony performance has been met with not only an outcry from locals, but an outright massive online petition to remove him as headliner in favor for a Toronto native.
Nearing 50,000 signatures, the internet once again reinforces its hatred for the hip/hop superstar with a spectacular outpouring of animosity that has resulted in a worldwide trending topic for several days. Although Kanye was similarly petitioned for his headlining performance at Glastonbury festival, the show went on seamlessly – excusing a yeezus obsessed stage-crasher.
