I’ve already made my thoughts on the new Flux Pavilion album, Tesla, quite clear – it’s a bold move for the producer to branch out of his supposed comfort zone and appeal to a wider audience. It might alienate a few of his more die-hard and unwavering fans, but fans of bass music in all its forms, I believe, will finish listening to it with a sense of pleasure.

“Feels Good” was one of the stronger tracks on the album, with a driving bassline and supreme vocals from Tom Cane, with a twinge of funk. However, it was also one of the tracks furthest from Flux’s original style. For those of you wanting a little more filth in your life, Cookie Monsta has got you covered.

The fellow Circus Records producer takes the laidback and sultry tune and straight up murders it – heavier bass synths, a grimier synth line, wild growls and a true dubstep rhythm characterize this tune as ‘face melting.’ My only personal gripe with the tune is the odd Jack Ü-esque snare, but what it detracts from the tune is quickly overshadowed by just how much I’ve missed Cookie Monsta, and how good it feels to have him back.

Pick up the full remix package on iTunes when it comes out next Friday, October 2nd.
