With the success of Rudimental’s trumpet use in their more commercial take on the drum & bass scene and its musical output, it’s no surprise that others have begun to follow suit. That’s not to do a disservice to TC though – the Bristol-born and -based producer, DJ and occasional singer has brought the brass to the forefront on his single ‘Show Some Love’.
Where TC is mainly known for all-out anthem style bass, he tempers it here for a more mellow approach. Subtle musical changes, a well known drum break and a great vocal performance by the tracks featured act, Little Grace’s Ben Harrison, it all amounts to a track that wouldn’t sound out of place on daytime radio but is infinitely better than some of the tracks that have recently entered that category.
