Parcels Talks What It’s Really Like Working With Daft Punk

This Infographic Charts The History Of Daft Punk From 1992 To Present Day

Daft Punk pleasantly surprised the music world by producing a new track for the Aussie group Parcels — and now, we’re getting the backstory on how the “Overnight” collaboration came to be!

“In early 2016 we played our first ever French show in a sweaty little basement club in downtown Paris and it was packed with a wild crowd,” Parcels revealed to NME.

“At some point – unbeknownst to us – two Robots entered discreetly to observe. The connection had been made.”

Parcels described working with the legendary electronic duo as “inspirational.” And, despite the elite status of Daft Punk, there was never any “ego” in the way of their work together.

“From the start to the finish it was an equal collaboration with no pressure, only a desire to create something meaningful together. That gave us a lot of confidence in ourselves, as well as respect for those two.”

While they’re formally referred to as Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo on the credits of “Overnight,” we know them as the most innovative, robotic duo of dance music! Listen to the funky fresh tune all over again, and read the full interview from NME!
