Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano are back with their first track of 2020, “Pray.” “Pray” represents not only a hot new single from the venerable Dutch duo, but also a whole new musical direction. While SJRM have always dabbled in tropical and tribal sounds, “Pray” sees SJRM fully lean into that motif in the form of a sultry house banger. “Pray” also has a lot of 90s influence, you can practically see the grainy video on a boxy TV.
While SJRM have always been a top festival acts appearing at main stages worldwide, “Pray” is a track that is made for the club. While there won’t be any actual parties happening, “Pray” is the perfect soundtrack for your personal pool party. You can picture the CO2 going off the second the track starts with it’s tech-y drums and hi-hats perfectly complemented by SABRI’s vocals that give the track its 90s vibe. Here’s what SJRM had to say about “Pray” and their next chapter of music.
“We have long searched for a sound that truly personifies our vision, projecting our current state of mind and portraying our emotions, staying true to who we really are. ‘PRAY’ is the definition of that state. Our next chapter is just beginning. Even though we’ll still be releasing more mainstream music here and there, this is us from now on.”
